National idea and philosophy

History of the Department of National Idea and Philosophy

The Department of National Idea and Philosophy is one of the newest departments at the Samarkand State Pedagogical Institute, established in 2024. It operates under the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Academic Activity

The department offers a comprehensive curriculum consisting of 33 subjects across Bachelor's and Master's levels.

  • Core Subjects: Philosophy, Religious Studies, Media Literacy, Professional Ethics, Philosophy and Methodology of History, Scientific Research Methodology, Reforms in the Education System, and the Theory of State and Law.

  • Specialized Master's Courses: Philosophy of Technology and IT, National-Spiritual Growth, Globalization and the Nation, and the Methodology of Teaching Specialized Subjects in Higher Education.

Scientific Potential

The department maintains a scientific potential of 42%. The faculty includes:

  • 1 Doctor of Science (Professor).

  • 2 Candidates of Science (Associate Professors).

  • 2 PhD holders (Associate Professors).

  • 2 PhD holders (Assistants).

  • 8 Assistant Teachers.

  • Notably, in the 2025–2026 academic year, one faculty member successfully defended a PhD in Social Philosophy.

Spiritual and Social Activities

The department is highly active in promoting national values and civic awareness. It regularly organizes lectures and events on themes such as "International Day of Peace," "Constitution – Our National Encyclopedia," and "Vigilance is a Requirement of the Times." In May 2024, the department played a key role in organizing the national scientific-practical conference: "Uzbekistan–Finland Education and Problems of Raising a Harmonious Generation."
