Duties of the Head of Department:

- Overall management and supervision of the department’s activities and staff;
- Ensuring the training of qualified specialists, direct supervision of educational, scientific, and spiritual-educational work, and ensuring compliance with state educational standards, curricula, and study programs;
- Organizing the preparation of teaching schedules and monitoring their implementation, establishing discipline control;
- Organizing the defense of final qualification works by students of retraining courses and their participation in state certification;
- Coordinating and managing the preparation of textbooks, teaching materials, and methodological guides related to the department’s programs;
- Ensuring wide implementation of new information technologies in the educational process and ensuring faculty members master these technologies;
- Organizing and conducting scientific and methodological conferences, interdepartmental meetings, seminars, and discussions on current topics with faculty participation (including innovations in the field, scientific and technical development, socio-economic development of the country, etc.);
- Establishing cooperation with similar higher education institutions, professional development and scientific institutions, including partnerships with developed foreign countries;
- Reviewing requests within the scope of authority.

Must know:
- Laws related to faculty activities;
- Resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers;
- Orders and decisions of the Ministry of Transport;
- The essence of the institute director’s orders, knowledge of the institute’s annual and long-term plans.

Qualification requirements:
- Professional and organizational skills required for a managerial position in educational institutions, leadership experience and tenure in the field of education, knowledge and skills within the scope of responsibilities and authority;
- Exemplary personal qualities — intelligence, culture, leadership, creativity, politeness, organizational skills, initiative and entrepreneurial abilities, sense of responsibility, ability to make independent decisions and act decisively, ensuring the achievement of the institution’s strategic goals;
- Higher education, master’s degree, PhD or doctoral degree, academic title of professor or associate professor;
- At least 5 years of successful work experience in the faculty’s field.
