Duties
The Trade Union Committee of Samarkand State Pedagogical Institute (TUC) was established in accordance with the Republican Council of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Uzbekistan, the Institute's Charter and structural units, and operates based on the Collective Agreement concluded with the employer.
A Collective Agreement has been signed between the Institute's administration and the TUC, aimed at ensuring the social, economic, and legal interests of the members. The implementation of the provisions of this agreement is regularly monitored.
Structure of the Trade Union Committee:
1. The Conference is the highest body of the Trade Union Committee and is held once every five years.
2. Between conferences, the Trade Union Committee serves as the governing body and is elected for a five-year term.
3. At the conference, the Chairperson of the Trade Union Committee, deputy chairpersons, committee and Presidium members, as well as members of the Audit Commission, are elected.
4. Members of the Trade Union Committee participate in ensuring the implementation of the decisions of the Conference Presidium, Plenary Session, and Presidium.
5. The funds of the Trade Union Committee are formed from members’ monthly contributions.
6. Membership fees are set at no less than 1% of monthly salaries.
Main goals and objectives of the Trade Union Committee:
The main goal of the trade union is to protect the labor, socio-economic, spiritual-cultural, intellectual-legal interests of its members, as well as the rights of their family members.
Main areas of activity of the Trade Union Committee:
- Participation in drafting laws and other regulatory documents to protect the labor and civil rights of members;
- Conducting collective oversight of labor legislation compliance;
- Concluding collective agreements and resolving labor disputes;
- Strengthening social protection of trade union members;
- Organizing cultural and educational events together with members;
- Implementing activities aimed at health improvement, physical education, and sports involvement for members and their relatives (parents, spouses, and children);
- Cooperating with social and non-governmental organizations, trade unions of foreign countries, and establishing international relations.
