The "Khan Atlas" national dress week was held at the Faculty of Exact and Applied Sciences of the Uzbek-Finnish Pedagogical Institute. 

 Let's take a look at the definition of atlas and khan atlas. 

 Atlas (Arabic - flat, smooth) is a single-faced smooth fabric, which is woven from natural silk. "Tanda" thread is decorated by dyeing in the "abrbandi " method.  Specially polishing gives shine to the atlas, so it glitters.  Previously, the surface of the fabric was pressed with wooden mallet called "kudung" , now atlas is passed through a drum with a hot surface - called "kalandr".  Uzbek Atlases are rich in colorful and elegant ornaments, these ornaments are combined with each other and form a whole beautiful pattern on the fabric. 

 The best type of atlas woven from natural silk is called eight-threaded khan satin.  The whole secret of Khan atlas lies in its structure and method of weaving.
